Crystals and Chakras – How To Use Crystals to Balance Your Chakras

Crystals and Chakras - How They Work Together

Crystals and Chakras, how do they work together? First of all, what are chakras? Chakras are energy centers along your spine. They represent the wheels of energy which are found throughout your body. In yoga, the Sanskrit word Chakra means wheel. There are seven chakras in the body and if one is unbalanced it creates a physical or emotional problem. Each one is also associated with a color. Understanding your chakras is an extremely powerful way to really connect to your mind, body and soul.

Practicing yoga is not the only way to balance the chakras, since crystals also have healing properties that help redirect energy flow. Using the energy from your crystals and chakras during meditation can help rebalance or heal a particular problem. This works best if you use a crystal that has the same color as the chakra. (Especially since colors have frequencies, wavelengths and vibrations too).

Crystal Collections

It’s always a good idea to have a range of crystals in your collection because each crystal is unique and offers its own healing properties. For example, some crystals are best for manifesting abundance and money. Where as others work towards love, tranquility or protection. Creating your own crystals and chakras collection will help you work with and focus on the different areas and aspects of your life. You'll be able to redirect positive energy exactly where you need it to be.

How To Use The Crystals and Chakras Guide

Below, you’ll find a brief description of each chakra, followed by a few healing crystals. Each healing crystal can be used to rebalance or cleanse the chakra. In order to properly use your crystals and chakras for rebalancing, we suggest meditating with your crystals. It's usually best to place the crystal over the intended chakra and repeat one of our suggested affirmations or mantras. Additionally, you can also slow down your breath and focus on the chakra you want to heal.

The 7 Chakras and their Crystals

There are seven main chakras within the body. Starting from the ground up; the root chakra, the sacral chakra, the solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the third eye chakra and the crown chakra.

1. The Root Chakra

The official Sanskrit name for the Root Chakra, also known as the first chakra, is Muladhara. Mula means root and Dhara means support. Therefore, the Root chakra’s job is to root your energy to the Earth. As a result it's located at the base of the spine and goes up until almost below the belly button. It's associated with the color red.

If the root chakra is under-active, or weak, you’ll feel unmotivated, tired or upset for no reason. If it’s overactive, you’ll probably feel anxious or suffer physical symptoms such as digestion or lower back and hip pain.
